The old man was not impressed any longer. The inspiring
lecture which the young Imam delivered a few minutes earlier
was suddenly forgotten and his beautiful melodious recitation
no longer seemed to matter. “Hey, Moulana!” he shouted,
‘why don’t you make du’aa after the salaah?” Startled at the
sudden outburst the Imam hesitantly replied: “Because it’s not
compulsory. In fact there is no proof in the sunnah that du’aa
should be made after the fardh salaah”. “Ha! New Moulanas,
new mas’alas” muttered the old man…
